About

It’s about travelling by SUP board and bike. I come from Germany and live in the small town Naunhof (near the city of Leipzig). I work as children’s entertainer http://bongbongxaphong.com/

For me, traveling is both a hobby and a passion. I organize and finance everything privately.
I enjoy cycling, trekking, and, for the past few years, traveling on water.
This allows me to experience my surroundings from a variety of perspectives.

SUP Tour auf der Elbe, von Torgau bis Wittenberge. Wildcamping. September 2020. Hier kurz hinter Roßlau. / SUP touring river Elbe (Germany) for about 300 km from Torgau to Wittenberge.

As a traveler on a SUP board, you’re an exotic on this planet. There aren’t many of us. But you can compare it to kayaking or canoeing.

Traveling on a SUP board has advantages and disadvantages:

  • Transporting the board (inflatable) to the water and back home is obviously much easier than transporting a 4-meter kayak.
  • You stand while paddling and therefore have a better view of your surroundings.
  • Quickly going ashore to take a look is much easier than with a canoe or kayak.
  • Portages are easier to manage.

Disadvantages:

  • SUP boards are much more susceptible to wind and waves than kayaks.
  • Locking SUP boards with a person is prohibited in Germany.
  • Luggage allowance is more limited than with boats.
